As some of you already know, my husband of 34 years died on March 10 after a massive brain bleed. He was in the hospital for ten days--getting better--and then he had a second, even more massive bleed. The doctor said there was no hope for recovery. He lived five more days. The kids and I kept a bedside vigil, but Andy was no longer there. I write this blog as a tribute to him--the best man I've ever known.

I wish I had known him. What an incredible man. At least I can know him through you.

The world lost a lot when your husband died. Your family lost even more. Our thoughts are with you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog, Barry, and for commenting. I also appreciate it very much that you read my books and some of my poetry. I suspect it will be the writing that sustains me and helps me figure out who I am without him. I'm doing quite a lot better. I don't think you ever get over a loss like this one, but you learn to live with it--learn to be grateful for what you do have/did have than to mourn what you've lost. Again, I'm grateful for readers like you who care.
